A male was stabbed in the shoulder in an alleged attack with a knife in Glasgow Central Station on Monday night.

British Transport Police said a 15-year-old boy had been arrested at the scene and charged in connection with the attack and with possessing a bladed article in a public place.

The wounded male was taken to hospital for treatment after the incident around 7.15pm.

Police said a knife was recovered from the scene with the investigation into the incident still ongoing.

The Gordon Street entrance to the station was cordoned off following the alleged attack.

A BTP spokesperson said: “Officers received a report of an assault at Glasgow Central station shortly after 7.30pm last night (July 20).

“A 15-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and has been charged with assault and having a bladed article in a public place.

“The victim was taken to hospital where he received treatment for a non-life threatening stab wound to his shoulder. A knife was recovered from the scene and enquiries into the incident are currently ongoing.
