A schoolboy is in hospital after being seriously assaulted with a knife on Bonfire Night in Renfrewshire.
Emergency services were called to reports that a 13-year-old boy had been attacked in the Gauze Street area of Paisley at around 8.55pm on Wednesday.
He was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children.
Police say they are following a positive line of enquiry.
© Google Maps 2025A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.55pm on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, we received a report of a 13-year-old boy seriously assaulted in the Gauze Street area of Paisley.
“He was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.
“Our investigation is continuing with officers following a positive line of enquiry.”
The incident came on a night when emergency services in Glasgow and Edinburgh were targeted with fireworks amid Bonfire Night unrest.
Officers and fire crews were hit with projectiles whilst attending incidents throughout the Central Belt, with police vehicles struck in Clydebank.
In another incident, a firework was launched at a car with a woman and two children inside in the Dalmuir area.
