A teenage boy has been arrested and charged in connection with shoplifting in Glasgow.

On Wednesday, officers executed a search warrant on an address in the Mosspark area of the city.

A 13-year-old male was arrested and charged with a shoplifting offence that occurred on August 21.

The stolen property was recovered from the property and returned to a retailer in the city centre.

Police say enquiries are ongoing and a report will be submitted to the relevant youth justice authorities.

Sergeant Ross McBurney of Greater Glasgow Retail Crime Task Force said: “We remain committed to working with retailers and disrupting this type of activity, while ensuring those responsible face the consequences.

“Retail crime is not victimless and we urge anyone with information to contact Police Scotland on 101. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
