A man has been arrested after bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion at a property in Glasgow.

Police discovered suspicious items at Liddesdale Square in the city’s Milton area on Wednesday night.

A specialist team carried out a controlled explosion after safely removing the items from the property.

A 42-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Officers remain at the scene on Thursday morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police Scotland carried out a search at an address in Liddesdale Square, Glasgow, on Wednesday night, June 10, as part of an ongoing enquiry.

“Officers found items which required EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) assessment and the area was cordoned off as a precaution. EOD attended and the items were safely removed before a controlled explosion was carried out.

“A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection. Officers remain in attendance at the property.”
