Bomb disposal experts were called to an industrial estate in Linwood following the discovery of a suspected unexploded ordinance device.
Police were called to Burnbrae Drive at around 9.05am on Tuesday after the device was found.
One local business was evacuated and a cordon was placed around the area.
The Explosive Ordnance Department attended the scene and safely removed the device.
Police Scotland said: Around 9.05am on Tuesday, 24 September 2024, police were called after a device – thought to be an old ordnance device – was found in Burnbrae Dr, Linwood.
“The EOD – Explosive Ordnance Department – attended and the device was safely removed from the area.
“Staff have been allowed to return to their work and local roads are now open.”
No casualties required treatment.
