Body recovered from river amid search for man missing for three weeks

Officers have informed the man's next of kin however formal identification is yet to take place.

A body has been recovered from the River Clyde amid a search for a man missing from Glasgow for three weeks.

Police said the body was recovered at around 9.20am on Thursday near Pointhouse Place in Glasgow, along the River Clyde.

The body is believed to be that of Michael Patrick Dougan, who disappeared from Kirkton Avenue on December 21.

Formal identification is yet to take place however the next of kin of the 50-year-old have been informed.

Police say enquiries are ongoing but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
