The body of a man has been pulled from the River Clyde.

Police were alerted to a man entering the water near Jamaica Street in Glasgow at around 3.45am on Sunday July 19.

The 40-year-old’s body was recovered by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service a short time later.

Police say there were no suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a man having entered the River Clyde near to Jamaica Street in Glasgow shortly after 3.45am on Sunday, 19 July, 2026.

“The body of the 40-year-old was recovered nearby a short time later by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
