Body pulled from water at boatyard identified

Emergency services were called to the Sandpoint Marina on the River Leven at around 10.40am on Thursday.

A body that was pulled from water at a Dumbarton boatyard has been identified.

Emergency services were called to the Sandpoint Marina on the River Leven at around 10.40am following the discovery on Thursday.

It has been confirmed that the body of a 49-year-old woman was discovered.

The death is being treated as unexplained.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The body of a 49-year-old woman was recovered from Sandpoint Marina, Dumbarton on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

“Her next of kin have been made aware.

“The death is being treated as unexplained but there are no suspicious circumstances and enquiries are ongoing.”
