Three men have been arrested after the body of a missing man was discovered in a field in Inverclyde.
Police were called to a report of a body found in a field near High Mathernock Farm in Kilmacolm around 9.20am on Tuesday.
The man has not formally been identified, but the family of a 50-year-old man, who was reported missing from Greenock on Tuesday, have been made aware.
Officers are also investigating a disturbance on Lansbury Street in Greenock around 2.45am on Tuesday, which they believe may be linked to the discovery.
Three men, aged 51, 45 and 44, have been arrested in connection.
Extensive enquiries are said to be ongoing.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 9.20am on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, we were called to a report of a body found in a field near High Mathernock Farm, Kilmacolm.
“The man has not formally been identified, but the family of a 50-year-old man, who was reported missing from Greenock on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, have been made aware.
“Officers are also investigating a disturbance in Lansbury Street, Greenock, that was reported around 2.45am on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, and enquiries are ongoing to establish if this is linked.
“Three men, aged 51, 45 and 44, have been arrested in connection and extensive enquiries are ongoing.”
