The body of a man found at a beauty spot in South Ayrshire has been identified.
The discovery was made near Mochrum Hill in Maybole on Tuesday around 10.10am.
Police have confirmed the body has been formally identified as Colin McKerrell, who was reported missing from Irvine.
The 58-year-old was last seen by his family on Monday morning around 10am.
A Police Scotland spokesperson has said: “The body of a man found near Mochrum Hill, Maybole, around 10.10am on Tuesday, September 20, has been formally identified as 58-year-old Colin McKerrell.
“His family have been informed and request that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
