Death of man 'not suspicious' as body found in river near dockyard

The body of a man has been recovered from the River Clyde in West Dunbartonshire.

Officers said the discovery was made at around 12.40pm on Sunday, near Rothesay Dock in Clydebank.

The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police Scotland will send a report to the Procurator Fiscal, as they do with all sudden deaths.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We were made aware that a body of a man had been found in the River Clyde near Rothesay Dock, Clydebank at around 12.40pm on Sunday, July 17, 2022.

“The death is not believed to be suspicious and, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
