Police ScotlandA body has been found during the search for a woman reported missing from Ayr.
Anne McNellie, 58, was last seen in the University Avenue and Craigie Road areas of the town on Sunday with her disappearance described as “out of character”.
Police have now confirmed that the body of a woman was found in the water near Station Road in Ayr around 2.50pm on Monday.
Formal identification is still to take place but Anne’s family have been made aware.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
