A body has been found during a search for a missing man from Ayrshire.

The body, that has yet to be formally identified, was recovered from the River Clyde near Corehouse in Lanark on Thursday afternoon.

The family of Murray Tanner, reported missing from the village of Muirkirk, have been informed of the find.

The 48-year-old was last seen on Monday.

Police say there are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
