A body has been found in East Dunbartonshire in the search for missing doctor Sophie Johnston.
The 35-year-old was last seen at her home address in Partick, Glasgow, at around 8.30am on Monday.
Police confirmed officers carrying out searches found a body in the Baldernock Crescent area of Milngavie at around 10.15am on Tuesday.
The family of Dr Johnston have been made aware of the discovery.
Aa police spokesperson said: “At around 10.15am on Tuesday, November 22, the body of a woman was found in an area near Baldernock Crescent, Milngavie.
“Although formal identification has still to take place, the family of 35-year-old Sophie Johnston has been informed.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
