A block of flats was evacuated and a person was treated at the scene in Glasgow after a gas leak.
A chemical smell was noticed at around 9pm on Thursday at flats located on Leven Street, next to Kenmure Street, and prompted a response from the emergency services.
Police, the SFRS, and the SAS evacuated the block and a number of surrounding properties, and one person was treated at the scene.
The building was deemed safe and residents were allowed back inside a short time later.
A police spokesperson said: “Around 9pm on Thursday, September 16, 2024, we were called to a report of a chemical smell at a block of flats in Leven Street, next to Kenmure Street, in Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and a number of surrounding properties were evacuated as a precaution.
“The building was confirmed to be safe a short time later and residents were allowed back into their homes.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.20pm on Thursday, 26 September to reports of a suspected gas leak at a dwelling in Glasgow.
“Operations Control mobilised five fire appliances to the city’s Leven Street, where firefighters led a number of residents to safety.
“Crews thereafter worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene.
“One casualty was given a precautionary check-up by paramedics but did not need to go to hospital.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 8.42pm on September 26 to attend an incident on Leven Street, Glasgow.
“One ambulance was dispatched, and one patient was treated at the scene.”
