A blind woman was attacked by a gang of teenage girls aboard a train in West Dunbartonshire.

The 60-year-old was travelling between Dumbarton Central and Drumry when she was assaulted by the female youths, British Transport Police said.

She was followed by the group who continued shouting abuse at her as she left the train.

Police are appealing for anyone travelling between Balloch and Airdrie shortly before 7pm on July 25 who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

Officers investigating an assault are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
