A biker who died in an early morning crash in Glasgow earlier this week has been named by police.

Steven Carlton was killed when his black Honda CMX 500 motorcycle crashed on Springburn Road around 4.30am last Tuesday.

Emergency services attended and the 47-year-old from Springburn was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened are appealing for information.

Sergeant Chris McColm of Glasgow Road Policing said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died. We will continue to liaise with them as our enquiries progress.

“Given the time of the crash, we know the road wasn’t particularly busy, but I’m appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or saw the motorcycle beforehand, to come forward.

“If anyone has private CCTV or dash-cam footage from the area around the time, please review this and bring anything you think could be significant to our attention.”
