Police were called to Braehead Road, Paisley, after receiving reports of a car being stolen on Sunday.

An appeal has been launched after a Bentley was stolen from a house before being set on fire and abandoned in Renfrewshire.

Police were called to Braehead Road in Paisley after a navy blue Bentley Continental convertible was stolen from a property between 4.40pm and 8.40pm on Sunday.

The vehicle was later found having been set on fire at the junction of Neil Street with Meadowside Street at around 9pm the same night.

Officers have launched a probe into the incident and have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with any relevant information to come forward.

Detective constable Gary Bruce, of Paisley CID, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing into this theft and wilful fireraising.

“I would urge any witnesses to the fire, or anyone who seen this vehicle in the local area on Sunday, November 6, to contact us as they may have information that will assist our investigation.

“Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3610 of November 6. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
