A teenager seen walking along the M74, who died after being hit by a lorry, has been named by police.
Christopher Keenan, from Blantyre, died after the collision near to Junction 6 for Hamilton, at around 3.10am on Saturday.
Officers received reports of a man seen walking southbound on the motorway shortly before the crash.
The 18-year-old’s family have issued a statement through Police Scotland thanking the public for their condolences.
“Christopher was a much loved son, brother, grandson and cousin,” they said.
“He was an inspiration to all that knew him, and he will be greatly missed by everyone.”
Police have urged anyone with information regarding the crash to come forward.
Sergeant John Houston said: “Our thoughts remain with Christopher’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
“I am urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw Christopher walking along the roadway, and has not yet spoken to us to please get in touch.
“We would also like to see any dashcam footage taken around the time of the collision on the M74 between Junctions 6 and 7.
