A popular swimming pool in Glasgow is set to close for almost a year to allow for “essential” renovation work.
Glasgow Life has announced that the pool at Glasgow Club Bellahouston will be closed to the public from September 2.
The maintenance will include the refurbishment of the poolside plant and pool filtration system, decommissioning of the external pool, introduction of entrance gates, and a refresh of the changing village and toilets.
Glasgow Club issued an apology ahead of the works that are expected to take a just under year to complete.
It’s hoped that the pool will be able to reopen on August 2025.
A statement on the Glasgow Club website reminded members that they will be able to use any of their pools across the city with their membership.
“We understand the importance of accessing your local Glasgow Club, and that this closure may cause some inconvenience.
“Please remember, your Glasgow Club membership allows you to use any other Glasgow Club pool in the city.
“All swim lesson customers will be contacted shortly by the programme coordinator.
“Thank you for your understanding while we undertake this essential work to ensure we continue to provide a high-quality swim experience at Glasgow Club Bellahouston in the future.”
