The charity’s encouraging walkers to stay and enjoy the festival village once they have crossed the finish line back at the Riverside Museum afterwards, where there will be entertainment and food stalls.
Around 20 employees from LSK Supplies will be taking part in the sponsored walk.
This year the architectural ironmongers and construction supplies company have chosen Beatson Cancer Charity as their charity partners raising vital funds for cancer patients and their families.
LSK Supplies have already taken part in several events fundraising for the charity, and they now have their trainers ready for ‘Off the Beatson Track’.
Ryan Cairley, Operations Manager at LSK Supplies said: “We chose Beatson Cancer Charity as our charity partners this year as we have had several members of staff who have had family or loved ones affected cancer.
“What we usually do is we put a selection of charities we want to get behind, and everybody straight away wanted to go for Beatson Cancer Charity.
“And I think just from family, loved ones and past experiences, that was the reason we went for that one.
” There is around 20 of us taking part.
“‘Off the Beatson Track’ is one of these events where everyone can take part, which is really good and exciting.
“So we’ve got a good mix of staff, old and young, doing it, and some of the families are coming on, so, no, really looking forward to that one.
“Fingers crossed the weather’s good for it!
“I think it’s really, really important for us to support Beatson Cancer Charity because we’ve got members of staff who have had cancer and some are going through it right now as well, but also family and loved ones of colleagues too.
“The work that The Beatson in do is amazing!”
Maisie McCormick, community fundraising manager at Beatson Cancer Charity, said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating our 11th Off the Beatson Track event this year.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who has taken part over the years – some families have been with us since the beginning, so we hope everyone will get behind the celebrations this year and join us.
“Every single person who signs up is allowing us to support more cancer patients and their families over the years to come, and we cannot thank you enough for that.”
