A Glasgow road has been closed after a 13-year-old was left in hospital after being struck by a car.

Emergency services were called to Balmore Road, between Skirsa Street and Ashgill Road, after a child was struck by a car on Wednesday at around 5.55pm.

A 13-year-old boy has been taken to the Royal Hospital for Children.

His current condition is unknown.

Officers confirmed the road has been closed to the public while enquiries remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.55pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, we were called to a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on Balmore Road, Glasgow.

“The pedestrian, a 13-year-old boy, was taken by ambulance to the Royal Hospital for Children.

“The road remains closed between Skirsa Street and Ashgill Road while enquiries continue.”
