A baby and two toddlers are being treated for serious injuries after a detached trailer struck a pram in Dumfries.
Emergency services attended the scene of the crash on Pleasance Avenue around 3.15pm on Monday afternoon.
The trailer is believed to have become detached from a Mitsubishi Outlander car before striking the pram, which was being pushed on the pavement.
An eight-month-old baby, a 14-month-old toddler and a 18-month-old toddler were all taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, before later being transferred to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Glasgow.
Their injuries are described as serious.
An 18-year-old woman, who was pushing the pram, was also taken to hospital for treatment.
Sergeant David Kerr, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we would urge anyone who have witnessed it to come forward.
“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area.”
