An Ayrshire home was deliberately torched during the early hours of Thursday morning.

Emergency services were called to a property fire on Juniper Street in Irvine at around 4.37am.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent two fire appliances to the two-storey building to extinguish the blaze.

There were no reported injuries, and crews left the scene at around 11.15am

Detectives are treating the incident as deliberate.

No arrests have been made in connection. An investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.10am on Thursday, September 3, 2026, we were called to a report of a fire at a property in Juniper Street, Irvine.

“Enquiries are ongoing and the fire is being treated as wilful.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 4.37am on Thursday, September 3, to reports of a dwelling fire on Juniper Street, Irvine.

“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to the scene, and firefighters worked to extinguish a fire affecting a two-storey house.

“There were no reported casualties and crews left at 11.15am after ensuring the area was made safe.”
