A man was taken to hospital after being stabbed in Glasgow on Saturday night.

Police were called to Kestrel Road in the Knightswood area at around 8.10pm following reports of an assault.

Emergency services attended and a 41-year-old man was taken to the city’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Police said he is receiving treatment for stab wounds, with medical staff describing his condition as stable.

A force spokeswoman said: “A 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
