Police are investigating an alleged rape in Glasgow city centre after a man was arrested and released pending further enquiries.
West Regent Lane was taped off after the incident, which was reported to have occurred around 2am on Saturday morning.
Police confirm a 22-year-old male was arrested and has been released. Enquiries remains ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 22-year-old man was arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault which happened around 2am in the West Regent Lane area of Glasgow on Saturday,16 May, 2026.
“He has been released pending further enquiries, which are ongoing.”
