A much-loved wooden seal statue washed away from the Isle of Arran during a storm has been discovered on a beach – on the Isle of Bute.

The Corrie Hotel launched a search after Clyde, who usually sits on top of a boulder close to their beer garden, disappeared after Storm Isha.

Made by Marvin Elliot, a local carver and sculptor, the seal is no stranger to adventure having washed away several times before – once being found as far away as Troon.

Clyde had been settled in his spot since 2008 before the heavy rain and strong winds moved him on.

The hotel has now confirmed that Clyde has been found near Lubas Bay beach on Bute by a holiday home owner.

Posting on social media, they said he is now on his way back to Arran to be returned to his rightful place on the shoreline after much TLC.
