Around 100 dock workers at Clydeport sites have secured a pay rise, according to a trade union.
Unite confirmed on Wednesday that, following pay talks, workers on the River Clyde will receive an overall pay package worth approximately 9.3%.
Around 100 staff based at the King George V dock in Glasgow and at Greenock Ocean terminal overwhelmingly backed the wage offer.
Unite said the deal covers crane and terminal operators, pilots who move vessels around the Clyde, engineers, estuary workers, and vessel deck hands.
The accepted offer amounts to a 3% basic pay rise, two days extra holidays, bonuses worth up to £1,000 if absence and profit targets are reached along with a 50p an hour rise for crane operators.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham, said: “Unite has successfully negotiated a good pay package for our Clydeport members on the Clyde.
“It’s another important win and demonstrates how Unite is delivering better jobs, pay and conditions for dock workers across Scotland.”
Clydeport cranes and workshops are owned by the Peel Port Group.
The workers handle and move containers, forest products, agribulk, projects, and bulk cargo from vessels to land for onward distribution to destination markets across Scotland.
Pat McIlvogue, Unite industrial officer, said: “Clydeport workers will benefit from a deal which will deliver better pay, bonuses and holiday entitlement.
“It’s a welcome recognition for the skilled work of dock workers on the Clyde.”
A spokesperson for Peel Ports Clydeport said: “We are pleased to have worked successfully with union representatives to agree this well-deserved pay rise for our valued staff at King George V dock and Greenock Ocean Terminal.”
