An armed robber has stolen money and cigarettes from a service station in Glasgow after threatening a staff member with a knife.
The raid took place at the station on Cumbernauld Road near the city’s Hogganfield Loch in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The suspect entered the premises at around 3.15am before producing the bladed weapon and threatening a man who was working there.
The employee was uninjured in the incident but has been left badly shaken.
Police are now looking to trace the man involved in the robbery who has been described as being white, between 30 and 35-years-old and around 5ft7.
At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark grey Adidas hooded top, light grey jogging trousers, a North Face beanie hat and a black face mask with an orange logo on the side.
He was also wearing gloves and carrying a black rucksack.
Officers are checking CCTV images from the location and the surrounding area for any additional details.
Detective sergeant Raymond Hunter said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident.
“In particular, I would ask motorists with dash cam devices to check their footage is they may have captured images which could assist our investigation.”
