A man was taken to hospital after being struck by a car in North Lanarkshire in a hit and run.

The 42-year-old was struck by a white Kia Ceed with a black roof on Carnbroe Road, Carnbroe, at around 12.25am on Monday.

An investigation has been launched with police appealing for help to trace the vehicle – which is likely to have sustained damage at the front – and its driver.

Road policing constable Fraser McEwan said: “I’m appealing to anyone who was in the Carnbroe area at the time and may be able to help with our investigation to come forward.

“Did you see a white Kia Ceed with a black roof? Have you seen a vehicle matching this description with damage to the front? Do you have private CCTV, doorbell footage or dashcam which could help?

“Anyone with information on the collision or the vehicle is urged to contact us on 101 quoting reference 0061 of August 5, 2024.”
