A probe has been launched after a man was taken to hospital following an assault at a house in Lanark.
The 29-year-old suffered serious injuries after being attacked inside a property on Smyllum Road, at around 9.05am on Tuesday.
Emergency services attended and he was taken to Wishaw General Hospital for treatment.
Police are now appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward in relation to the incident.
Detective constable Murray McMillan, from Wishaw CID, said: “We’re appealing to anyone with information on this attack, or who saw anything suspicious in the Smyllum Road area on Tuesday morning, to please come forward.
“We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around that time, such as motorists heading to work or parents taking children to school.
