An investigation is underway after a car was torched on Tuesday.

Emergency services were called to Paisley’s Morven Avenue around 3.30am after reports of a black Honda CRV on fire.

Detectives are treating the blaze as deliberate. Officers have been checking CCTV footage from in and around the area.

Detective Constable Jack McElwee said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity prior to this incident occurring.

“Despite it being in the early hours of the morning, I would ask people with doorbell or dash cams to check their footage. There may be images which will assist our ongoing investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0329 of Tuesday, April 15 2025.
