An appeal has been launched after a man attempted to board a train with a knife in South Lanarkshire.

At around 10pm on December 29, a large group of young people were gathered at Lanark railway station and one man attempted to board a train in possession of a knife.

The British Transport Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information to come forward.

Anyone with information can contact the force by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 with the reference 2300154476.
