Appeal in hunt for BMW after linked housebreakings

Police are searching for a BMW after two linked housebreakings in West Dunbartonshire.

A number of items were stolen from a property in Dumbarton’s Bontine Avenue at around 1.10pm on Sunday, before entry was forced to a property in Highdykes Hill, in Bonhill, at around 2.50pm on the same day.

Four men were seen leaving in a blue Audi car.

Enquiries remain ongoing at this time.

Detective constable Marty Davies from Clydebank CID said: “Enquiries are at a very early stage to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“In particular we would urge anyone in the area with private CCTV or dash-cams to please check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance, such as a vehicle driving off at speed.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 1867 of Sunday, March 17, 2024, for Bonhill and 3115 of Sunday, March 17, 2024, for Dumbarton.

“Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
