Police have recovered nearly quarter of a million pounds worth of drugs from two properties in South Lanarkshire.

Officers found a quantity of cannabis with an estimated street value of £245,000 from addresses in Comely Bank, Hamilton on Thursday.

Police said enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the recovery and trace those involved.

Sergeant Andy Murray of Hamilton Police Station: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and the public has an important role to play in helping us target those involved in the cultivation, supply and sale of illegal substances.

“We encourage anyone with concerns or information about drugs in their community to contact us through 101, quoting incident number 2430 of May 29.
