Rest and Be Thankful remains closed both ways day after lorry overturns

The Rest and Be Thankful in Argyll and Bute has been closed in both directions for more than 24 hours after a lorry overturned on the road.

The incident on the A83 happened shortly before 8am on Thursday as high winds kicked in across Scotland as Storm Pia battered the country.

Road users are advised to use the available signed diversion route and expect longer than normal journey times.

Traffic Scotland confirmed that recovery of the vehicle will be carried out when it is safe to do so, but the timescale is weather dependent.

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
