The A83 Rest and Be Thankful in Argyll and Bute has been closed after a yellow weather warning for rain was issued.
Traffic Scotland advised motorists shortly after 12pm that due to adverse weather conditions, the A83 traffic will be diverted onto the Old Military Road for the remainder of the day.
An update will be issued on Thursday morning.
The decision follows a yellow weather warning for rain for the west coast and southern parts of the country, which is in place until 10pm on Wednesday night.
There will be a risk of flooding and travel disruption, with rainfall of up to 60mm on high ground in some areas.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) also has 12 flood alerts and nine flood warnings in place.
The Met Office forecast reads: “Rain will spread east across the warning area on Wednesday, and be heavy at times over high ground.
“Accumulations of 20 to 30mm are expected widely with 40 to 60mm on high ground. Some flooding is possible following on from rain earlier in the week.”
Parts of Scotland were hit with heavy rain on Tuesday, with a yellow alert affecting nearly all of Scotland except the Highlands and Islands between 1am and 6pm.
It comes days after Storm Kathleen battered the country at the weekend with winds of up to 76mph and snow in some areas in the north.
