The A83 through Lochgilphead remains closed in both directions as investigations continue following a fire in the town.
The closure is in place until further notice and is causing disruption for motorists travelling through the area.
It comes following a house fire in Lochgilphead on Sunday morning.
One man died at the scene and two others were taken to hospital. Police have confirmed the man’s next of kin has been informed.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
Drivers are being advised to follow signed diversion routes and allow extra time for their journeys.
Diversions
Northbound traffic is being diverted at Kilmory roundabout in Lochgilphead via the A816 towards Oban, before joining the A85 through Connel, Taynuilt and Dalmally, then onto the A819 towards Inveraray.
Southbound traffic is being diverted from Inveraray via the A819 to Dalmally, before continuing on the A85 through Taynuilt and Oban, and rejoining the A816 back towards Lochgilphead.
Several local streets remain closed to both drivers and pedestrians, including Lochnell Street, Union Street and Campbell Street.
Detective Inspector Peter MacMillan said: “Our thought are with the family and friends of the man that has died in this fire.
“Our investigations into the cause are ongoing but it does not appear to be wilful.”
