Part of the A77 has been closed in both directions due to a fallen tree in South Ayrshire.

Transport Scotland confirmed the road was closed near Mark at around 12pm on Monday.

The latest update at around 3.30pm said the road remained closed as emergency works continued to clear it.

Drivers have been urged to avoid the area and warned of journey delays.

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
