A76 closed near Mauchline following crash involving police vehicle and car

The A76 has been closed following a collision involving a police vehicle and a car near Mauchline.

The crash occurred at around 2.30pm on Friday, and emergency services including police, fire and ambulance were dispatched to the scene.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they received a call at around 2.42pm and mobilised two appliances.

Fire crews used cutting equipment and assisted in making the scene safe.

An SAS spokesperson said: “We received a call at 2.43pm to attend a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A76, near Mauchline.

“We dispatched two ambulances, two special operations response teams (SORT), and an air ambulance to the scene.”

Police are also on scene and are advising drivers to find an alternative route.
