Two girls have been knocked down by a car on a street in Glasgow’s east end.

Emergency services were called to Crownpoint Road, near Gallowgate, after the crash at 8.50am on Wednesday.

Police have said there were no serious injuries.

A spokeswoman said: “We were called around 8.50am to a report of a crash involving two 12-year-old girls and a car.


“An ambulance has been in attendance but injuries are not believed to be serious.”

The two children were taken to Glasgow Children’s Hospital.

A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 8.43am today to attend an incident on Crownpoint Road in Glasgow.

“We dispatched two ambulances and a paramedic response unit to the scene. We transported two child patients to Glasgow Children’s Hospital.”


The road was closed Westbound between Fielden Street and Abercromby Street but has since reopened.
