CCTV images have been released of a man after a shopkeeper was battered in his store.

The 30-year-old victim was attacked when a man entered a Lifestyle Express store in Dennistoun, Glasgow, in January.

Emergency services attended the shop in Ark Lane at around 2.45pm on January 3 and the victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious facial injuries.

Detectives investigating the attack have now released CCTV images of a man they are hunting as part of the investigation.

The man is described as white, around 6ft tall, and wearing a dark coloured waterproof jacket, blue jeans and white trainers.

Detective sergeant Andrea Templeton, from London Road CID, said: "This was a particularly violent assault on a man who was at his work and enquiries are continuing to find whoever is responsible.

"I would appeal to anyone who recognises the man in the images to contact police as we believe he may have information that could assist with our enquiries.

"Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact officers at London Road CID on 101."
