A teenager found dead at a house at the weekend has been named.

The young woman, named locally as 18-year-old Chloe Buist, died after it is suspected she took drugs at the property in Dumbarton on Sunday afternoon.

Police were called at around 4.50pm over the incident in the town's Hawthornhill Road and arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with alleged drugs offences.

A post-mortem is expected to take place on Wednesday to establish how the teenager died.

A statement from Police Scotland said: "Around 4.50pm on Sunday, police received a report of a woman having died in Hawthornhill Road, Dumbarton.

"A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the cause of death.

"We can confirm a 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with alleged drugs offences."

A spokesman for the Crown Office said: "The procurator fiscal received a report concerning a 21-year-old man in connection with alleged incidents on February 28, 2016.

"The accused was liberated from custody and did not appear in court. The case against him remains live and under consideration."
