A man has been left scarred for life after he was attacked by an armed pair at a flat.

The 33-year-old victim was attacked by two other men with weapons in the flat in Greenhills Road, Rutherglen, at around 7am on Saturday.

The man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to serious facial injuries.

The suspects are described as in their early 20s with short hair, possibly shaved at the sides, and wearing dark clothing.

Detective constable Grant Robertson, from Cambuslang CID, said: "This was a violent assault and the victim will be scarred for life as a result.

"We know that the two men involved left the flat after the attack and made off in an unknown direction.

"I would appeal to anyone who may have seen these two men acting suspiciously in the Greenhills Road area or surrounding streets around the time of the incident to get in touch.

"Anyone with information is urged to contact officers at Cambuslang CID on 101."
