A missing man has been found dead in his home town, police said.

Jason Logan, 35, was last seen alive at his home on Chisholm Place, Motherwell, on Thursday.

On Sunday morning, police officers discovered his body in an area near the town's Dalriada Crescent.

A post mortem will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of his death, but a police spokeswoman said there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances.

A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
