Man arrested in connection with 'gun raid' at city convenience store
Police were called to the shop in Glasgow after staff were allegedly threatened with a firearm.
A man has been arrested in connection with a gun raid at a convenience store.
Police were called to Hussains General Store in the east end of Glasgow on Monday after a man wearing a boiler suit allegedly threatened staff with a firearm and fled with cash.
Officers have now arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the incident which happened on Wellshot Road. He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday.
A statement from Police Scotland said: "With reference to our previous release regarding an incident at Hussains General Store in Wellshot Road, Glasgow around 6.15pm on Monday please note:
"A 23-year-old man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with the alleged robbery.
"A full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
