A Scottish travel company is set to create 200 new jobs as part of a major expansion.

The majority of the jobs will be based at Traveltek's headquarters in East Kilbride, but new offices will also open in Sao Paulo, Shanghai and Dubai.

The company, which has an annual turnover of £4.3m employs around 100 staff, plans to grow turnover to £25m a year by 2019.

President and group managing director Kenny Picken said: "We have a strong position as the booking systems supplier of choice for many of the major travel trade businesses.

"There is a significant opportunity to leverage that position and develop Traveltek into a major global technology business.

"Growth finance will enable us to accelerate that process, build a larger global footprint and create a large number of high quality technology jobs, many of which will be in Scotland."

Traveltek specialises in creating booking systems for airlines, hotels, cruise ships and car hire firms.
