A search is under way for a man who has been missing for more than five days.

Stuart Clark was last seen at a friend's house on Park Road in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, on Sunday, January 17 around midday.

There was an unconfirmed sighting of the 59-year-old near the Macintoshs bar in Dalmuir on Monday around 2pm.

Police Scotland said an extensive search was continuing for Mr Clark, who may have visited Dumbarton Road and Dalmuir train station.

Officers said he has previously been found in Mallaig and Old Kilpatrick when reported missing and may have left Clydebank.

Sergeant Kirsten Stobo at Dumbarton Police Office said: "Although Stuart has been reported missing a couple of times before, it is quite unusual for his family and friends not to have seen or heard from him. They are worried for his wellbeing and just want to know he is safe and well.

"There has been an unconfirmed sighting of Stuart on Dumbarton Road on Monday but officers are checking CCTV to verify this. We are particularly keen to establish Stuart's movements from when he left his friend's house in Park Road on Sunday.

"If anyone has seen Stuart since Sunday 17 January or knows of his present whereabouts, please contact Dumbarton Police Office via telephone number 101."

Mr Clark is described as white, around 6ft 2in, of medium build with red hair and a beard. He also wears glasses and has a distinctive stilted walk. He is believed to be wearing a dark waterproof jacket and was carrying a black or grey rucksack.
