A teenager has spoken of becoming the first in the history of his Glasgow school to ever attend Oxbridge.

Jack Wands from St Andrew's Academy said he is looking forward to studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics after passing the notoriously tough entrance exams.

Not only will he be the first from his school to attend Oxford, but he will also be the first in his family to ever attend university.

Jack travelled to Oxford in October to take the entrance exams for his course, which has notable alumni such as David Cameron, Ed Miliband and Edwina Currie.
