A man was robbed and battered in the street then attacked again minutes later by the same two men.

The 28-year-old victim was making his way home in West Dunbartonshire on Saturday night when he was approached by the men who assaulted him and stole his shopping bag.

He was attacked on Dumbarton Road in Dalmuir at around 9.45pm. The injured man then managed to walk to nearby Burnside Court when the same two men, one of them 6ft 7in tall, approached him and attacked him again.

He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was treated for facial injuries then later released.

The first suspect is described as white, 6ft 7in tall and of slim build with dark coloured hair. He was wearing a dark-coloured jacket and trousers. The second suspect is described as white and of stocky build. He was wearing a dark-coloured hooded top and trousers.

Detective constable Vicky Barrett, of Clydebank Police Office, said: "We are currently viewing CCTV footage we have gathered from the local area and officers have also carried out house to house enquiries in an effort to gain more information on the two men responsible for this attack.

"I would ask any witnesses, any anyone with information that may assist police enquiries should contact Police Scotland on 101.
